The Stanford Heights Fire District is made up of approximately 7 square miles from both the Town of Niskayuna in Schenectady County and the Town of Colonie in Albany County. It borders the towns of Rotterdam and Guilderland as well as the City of Schenectady. It is home to the Stanford Heights Fire Department, a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization. At present the Stanford Heights Fire Department responds to approximately 600 fire, rescue and medical calls per year. Through the use of excellent training, proven tactics and technology the more than 4,000 residents of the Stanford Heights Fire District are provided with the highest level of professional and effective protection.

The department is led by a Chief and two Assistant Chiefs and is made up of many dedicated men and women who come from a variety of backgrounds. As well as responding to a myriad of fire, rescue and EMS calls 24/7 the firefighters and EMT's of the department actively train once a week and hold a monthly meeting. With the assistance of its social members the Department holds a variety of events and fundraisers throughout the year.

The Stanford Heights Fire Department is always looking for new members to help serve the community. If you ever wondered what it takes to be a firefighter or if you would simply like to know more about your fire department, stop by during our Monday night drill / meeting between 6pm and 9pm or just contact us by phone or email. We would be happy to meet with you, answer your questions and hopefully give you an application.
