On the night of Monday August 24, the firefighters from Stanford Heights, as well as the firefighters from neighboring Niskayuna Fire District 2 met and conducted a joint burn drill at the Colonie training tower. Tasked with the job of teaching the newer firemen the dangers faced when responding to fires involving flammable gas tankers, the Captains and Lieutenants from both departments worked together to split the remaining firefighters into three groups assigned different jobs. 2 main attack lines and a safety line worked hand-in-hand to safely and efficiently extinguish the flames for each evolution, as well as keep the tank cool.
